Urus Island – Amantany Island – Taquile Island
Titicaca is a lake in the Andes on the border of Peru and Bolivia. By volume of water, it is the largest lake in South America. Islas flotantes de Urus
It is often called the highest navigable lake in the world, with a surface elevation of 3,800m. (12,507 ft). Although this refers to navigation by large boats, it is generally considered to mean commercial craft.
Amantaní is another small island on Lake Titicaca populated by Aymara speakers. About 9,000 people live in nine communities
Life on Taquile is still largely unchanged by mainland modernities.
Culture is very much alive on Taquile, which can be seen in the traditional clothes everyone wears.
The Taquileños run their society based on community collectivism and on the Inca moral code ama sua, ama llulla, ama qhilla, (do not steal, do not lie, do not be lazy). The island is divided into six sectors or suyus for crop rotation purposes. The economy is based on fishing, terraced farming horticulture based on potato cultivation, and tourist-generated income from the approximately 40,000 tourists who visit each year in the Urus , Amantany , Taquile islands there is not cars and hotels ,all agriculture is done by hand, small stores, health clinic, not electricity, they uses small solar panels.

Itinerary
in the morning our passengers will be transferred to airport Lima take morning flight to Juliaca it take one hour and 30 minutes. Our personal will be waiting for group then drive for 40 minutes to Puno hotel, after the accommodation city tour.
Tour to Sillustani: sillustani located 34 km, from the city of Puno, sillustani is one of the archaeological sites on the Andes. Sillustani was a cemetery were considered sacred places the cemeteries were important resting places for the deceased people, made up by huge cylindrical towers where the Kollas used to bury their mummies. It is said the Incas conquered them in the XV century and continued building theses graves improving the technique. Nowadays is still possible to see well preserved tombs including some carving icons. This program also offers a magnificent scenery as the complex was built near a gorgeous lake Umayo. Our trip also includes, visit to some local families who lives around the area.
Early in the morning we will picks up you from your hotel around 7.00 hours approximately, after 2 hours motorboat you will arrive at the Uros island. a group of 44 or so artificial islands made of floating reeds (totora, a reed that abounds in the shallows of the lake). These islands have become a major tourist attraction for Peru, drawing excursions from the lakeside city of Puno. Their original purpose was defensive, and they could be moved if a threat arose. Many of the islands contain watchtowers largely constructed of reeds. Then we going to go Amantany island Fter the lunch in the afternoon we will visit two mountain peaks, called Pachataita (Father Earth) and Pachamama (Mother Earth), and ancient ruins on the top of both peaks. we will see planted with wheat, potatoes, and vegetables. Most of the small fields are worked by hand. Long stone fences divide the fields, and cattle and sheep graze on the hillsides.
We will stay in family house, on Amantany the most of families open their homes to tourists for overnight stays and provide cooked meals, arranged through tour guides. The families who do so are required to have a special room set aside for the tourists . in the night they hold nightly traditional dance shows for the tourists where they offer to dress them up in their traditional clothes and participate.
After the breakfast in the morning in Amantani we will take motorboat to Taquile Island, arriving after 40 minutes we will visit the main square communal local typical bestiments , we walk for 3 hours then we will have lunch in a basic restaurant where they serve commonly trouths, and other dishes, then after to enjoy the taquiles lifestyle we will aboard the boat and return around 3pm arriving to Puno about 5pm and transfer to the hotel.
after the breakfast or before our private car will picks up you from your hotel and then you will be transferred to the airport (Juliaca), 40 minutes driving; after 1 hour and 30 minutes flight you will be arriving to Lima airport, there will be waiting for you a Guide to picks up you and then transfer to your selected hotel, end our service.
